The Concepts

Our group chose the Responsibility and Connection. We chose the Responsibility concept because we are responsible of the causes of changes in the city. We also chose the Connection concept because floods connects to other things such as sicknesses like Dengue Fever.

Group performance

Our group's performance is making a band. It will help the audience to understand my groups inquiry because the lyrics is going to be about the first inquiry. We can show our talents because we will play the musical instruments. I think the message will be clear because people likes music and they will understand the music. The length of our performance is going to be how long 5 minutes. We need some special needs which are drums and the microphones.

First HW

Title: It's Our World Were Responsible For It.

Theme: Floods.

Central Idea: We are responsible for determining causes of changes in our natural environment.

Inquiry Into:
1. Human factor of the causes of floods.
2. Specific solutions to address flooding in the city.

Student's Questions:
1. What is the government policy/plan for drainage system in the city of Jakarta?
2. What is the geographical setting of Jakarta?
3. What is flood?
4. Why is flood always happening?

The first central idea is Human factor of the causes of flood. Human activities also effect flooding. Parking lots and roads causes water to run quickly to rivers without sipping into the ground. People constructing buildings throw their cement to rivers and make them thicker and not a lot of water can be stored inside the river so they will overflow. Some rivers overflow normally, fishes use this flooding to feed and also breeding. Stopping this normal flooding session can effect the fishes life cycle. Flood plains and wetlands helps to prevent flooding because they can hold water and releases them slowly.
